The Great Sandwich Ride of 2024
The Ride to our Breakfast Meeting It was a cool and wet morning when five riders (Phil, Ron, Chris and Derek and Shaun) left their perspective residences to head to the Atherley Diner in Atherley for a meet and breakfast. Three set out from the Newmarket area, one from around Angus and one, Shaun, from somewhere south of the middle of nowhere Ontario. Our First rendezvous was in the parking lot of the Cottage Canoe where the three of us from the Newmarket area (Ron Chris and I) met up with Derek and then it was the backroads to Orillia. By this time, the rain had completely let up and the temperature had climbed a few degrees so it was a dry and comfortable ride along the Old Barrie Road to Highway 12 and then finally stopping at the Atherley Diner just before 10am.As usual, Dave and Waverley beat everyone to the restaurant and greeted us all with hunger and a smile on their faces. For those who have never been to the Atherley Diner, it's a medium sized family-run place just north of the intersection of Atherley Road and Highway 12. Fare is your typical diner grub, lots of good tasting food that is also reasonably priced. A short time after we arrived and were enjoying tea and coffee, our last rider (the guy from nowhere) arrived and joined us for breakfast. Shaun was/is a member from Port Perry area and will be joining our Chapter. The seven of us enjoyed both the food and company and about forty-five minutes later we got on our bikes and headed to the Bancroft Brew Pub. Or did we. No, we didn’tClick here to read the entire story

Summer 2024 Member's message
Time to Ride 2024 Greetings everyone.I hope this email finds you well.June is here and I think everyone is now back on Canadian soil for the summer, everywhere is open and fully accessible. and we are hoping that you are ready to get some recreational riding/driving under your belts. The last few years resulted in very few rides and outings as a group. Let's make up for this in 2024. We understand that there are more and more of us that can no longer partake in a ride and would like to arrange some destination outings that will allow for both a ride and drive to one of Ontario's many fantastic locations for a get together.Derk Cropper is our Ride Captain and anyone who has been on one of his rides will agree that he does a fantastic job at planning and leading it. Let's give him a hand by giving him some great ideas for a day's outing. Also important are our Chapter meetings especially if life gets in the way of an outing but you can still meet to exchange some stories and ideas. Chapter. Perhaps we could look at early morning breakfast at the likes of the Cottage Canoe in Barrie (Great location, food and early bird discounts).Drop a line, text or email to any Board member and give us your thoughts. Don't forget our Chapter website at [[URL]]. Suggestions for content and pics are welcomed and encouraged. On behalf of the Board, Ride Captain and Safety Officer, I look forward to a great 2024 riding season.Phil
