Christmas and Season’s Greetings to you all.
This time of the year is the one time of every year when everyone can enjoy life and show their appreciation for everyone who is, or has been, in their lives. It’s the time where everywhere we go we can see uplifting scenes with beautiful decorations, and the sound of music that inspires us to be the best we can.
There is no disputing that Christmas is the most important religious celebration in human history, and has endured for over two thousand years. But, Christmas has come to be more than a religious celebration, that is, the celebration of the birth of the Christian messiah; way more.
Over the years, people from all over the world have come to see the Christmas season as a time to celebrate all things good about humanity. It’s a time when friends and past acquaintances get together for a fabulous meal. It’s a time when people will go out of their way to help a total stranger in need. It’s a time we tell others just how much they mean to us and others, and that they are appreciated. It’s a time we forgive people who have negatively impacted us or our loved ones. It’s a time when we make a total stranger happy just by giving them a smile and wish them all the best.
If you believe in miracles, this is when they are most likely to happen; and they do happen.
In today’s news (December 1st, 2023) I read about an event that rarely, if ever, happens. After a discussion paper authored by a member of the CHRC declared that Christmas was a discriminatory practice in Canada, Bloc Québécois MP, Alain Therrien, introduced a motion on the 30th November saying, “that the House recalls that “Christmas is a tradition celebrated in Quebec and Canada” and invites all to “unite as we approach the Christmas season.” The miracle; the house passed this motion unanimously! Long live Canadian tradition!
On behalf of your Executive; Dave Harris, Waverley Reid, Shawn Hewlett, Ron Nokes, Derek Cropper and Bevan Carrique, and in the spirit of Christmas, I wish each and every one of you, all the best and encourage you all to live up to the Blue Knights moto and the spirit of the Christmas season.
And a special message from our Chapter Chaplain, Rt. Rev. Bevan Carrique:
I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. May the Lord be with you all and keep you safe until we can again enjoy the riding season with our Brothers and Sisters.
Enjoy and be enjoyed.
